Help

Everything here is one page or one short video. If what you need is not on it, write to [email protected] and a person reads it.

Inside the app there is a ? at the top of every screen. It opens the help for the screen you are on, which is quicker than this page.

Questions shops ask

In the order they come up.

I cannot find a set that I know is here.

Search less, not more. One word — part of the surname, or three letters of the plate — finds more than the whole thing typed with a space in the wrong place.

If it still does not come up, it may have been handed back: the list of sets that have finished is at the bottom of Find.

The number it offered is not the next one up.

That is deliberate. Each phone is given its own run of numbers so two people can put sets away at the same time without ever handing out the same number twice.

The screen says so under the box when it skips. Type over it if the tires already carry a number.

It says something did not save.

Nothing is lost. Press the badge at the top of the screen and it says, in one sentence, what needs doing — almost always a set number that another set already has.

Everything else carries on saving while that one waits.

There is no signal in the container.

Keep working. What you do is kept on the phone and goes to the office on its own once you are back in signal.

The badge at the top says how many are waiting. Do not sign out until it says everything is saved.

We do not have a label printer.

Then chalk it. The app gives each set a short mark — D001 for Doucette’s set 1001 — and that is what goes on the tire.

Searching finds a set by its chalk mark or by its number, either way.

Somebody has left the shop.

The owner turns their account off in Admin. Everything they did stays in the record under their name — nothing is deleted, ever.

A phone has been lost.

The owner removes it in Admin → Phones & computers, from a different phone. Whoever has it is signed out and cannot sign in again.

Nothing it had already saved is affected.

How do I get our records out?

Admin → Exports, any time, without asking us. Sets, history and photographs, as spreadsheets that open in Excel.

What each screen is for

The same words the ? button shows you inside the app.

Find a set
  • Type any part of what you know: a customer’s last name, a plate, a phone number, the set number, or the shelf code.
  • You do not need the whole thing. “doucet” finds Doucette.
  • Or press Scan label (camera) and point the phone at the label on the tire.
  • Before you type anything it shows what was put away most recently, which is usually the one you want.
Put a set away
  • Three steps: whose tires these are, what the tires are, and where they are going.
  • If the customer has been here before, search their name at the top and it fills the rest in.
  • The set number is filled in for you. Type over it if the tires already have a number written on them.
  • At the end you get the label to print, or the mark to write on the tire in chalk.
One set
  • The shelf code is the big thing at the top. That is where to walk to.
  • The buttons underneath are the three things that happen to a set: the customer is swapping, the customer is picking these up, or they are moving to another spot.
  • Everything rarer — a receipt, another label, a wrong set number — is under More options.
Season
  • Four lists for the swap season: who is due, whose tread is getting low, who has not paid, and the sets nobody has come back for.
  • Tap a customer to open their set and pull it before they arrive.
  • The number beside each list is how many are in it.
Log what’s on the rack
  • For a shop starting out with a full rack. Walk the racks and log what is where, one set at a time, or paste a list you already keep in a spreadsheet.
  • You do not need the tread or the car to log a set. Fill those in later from the set’s own screen.
  • Your existing set numbers stay yours.
Reprint labels
  • A label that fell off, or one that went through the printer crooked.
  • Find the set, press the label, print it again. Nothing about the set changes.
Counter slips
  • The paper that goes on the counter with a customer’s tires, so whoever is on the desk knows what came in and what it cost.
Settings
  • Your own choices: the unit tread is read in, and the theme.
  • This is also where anything waiting to reach the office is listed, and where you sign out.
Admin
  • The owner’s screen: people, phones, storage fees, zones, exports and the shop’s own settings.
  • Add somebody here and they sign in with the shop code and a PIN.
  • A phone that is lost is removed here, from a different phone.
Zones and spots
  • Where the tires live: a rack with shelves and slots, a pile with sides, the floor, or somewhere off site.
  • Name them the way the shop already names them. The codes the app prints come from these names.
