Tire storage software for Ottawa shops
Tire storage tracking for independent shops in Ottawa, Kanata, Nepean, Orleans and across the river.
Treadstock does one job: put a set of four away in about ninety seconds with a label or a chalk mark, find any set in ten seconds by part of a name, a plate, a phone number or the mark on the tire, and see on a Monday morning who is due back and whose tread will not pass another winter. It runs on the phones your techs already carry, so there is nothing to buy and nothing to install on the office computer.
The changeover in Ottawa
Ottawa gets the earliest changeover of anywhere on this list. The first overnight freeze usually arrives in the second half of October, and the phone starts before that because people are watching the forecast. By the first week of November the bays are full and nobody has time to look for a set that is not where the book says.
Independents here run two and three bays with a container or a mezzanine out the back, and a few hundred stored sets by the end of November. The storage is a real part of the winter — charged for, promised, and tracked on a whiteboard that somebody has to keep in their head.
What that means for a shop here
The parts of this that exist because of how the job actually goes in Ottawa and the valley.
Worth knowing
Quebec requires winter tires on passenger vehicles registered there from 1 December to 15 March. A lot of Ottawa customers drive into Gatineau or live on the other side, so an Ottawa shop is working to a legal deadline its Toronto equivalent is not — and the customers who know about it book earliest.
How it handles it
Treadstock was built in Kanata, by a technician and shop manager, in a shop that stored tires in a container. Everything about how it works comes out of that: the location code is huge because it is read in bad light, the targets are big because the person holding the phone is wearing gloves.
And one more thing
Two-site shops are common here, and a set on the wrong site is the worst version of this problem: the customer is booked at one address and their tires are at the other, and nobody finds out until the car is on the hoist.
What it costs
One price, published, with no per-set or per-user charge on top of it.
Free until spring
Shops that start by February 28, 2027 use it free through March 31, 2027. No card, and nothing is billed unless you opt in.
Then $39 a month
Or $390 for the year, plus HST, per location. Unlimited sets and unlimited staff. If you stop, your records stay there to read and to export.
Other Ontario cities
The same product; what differs is when the rush lands and what the shops look like.
